Hey, I’m Julie Anderson
A Raleigh wedding photographer, elopement photographer, and documentary lifestyle photographer with a passion for capturing heartfelt moments.
(Because why limit yourself when life is full of so much to celebrate?)
From the quiet glances, the bursts of laughter, or the fleeting in-between moments, I’m here to preserve your story exactly as it unfolds — beautiful, raw, and timeless.
Photography started as a creative outlet for me — a way to slow down, connect with people, and savor the magic in the everyday.
It began with a little pink 35mm camera and grew into a lifelong passion for storytelling through images. That passion only grew when I started swiping my dad’s Nikon on family trips — always the last one to catch up because I was “getting the shot.”
Fast forward a few years, and I took a leap from fruit fly genetics (yep, it’s a thing) to chasing my dream of photography. Life forced me to reevaluate my priorities, and starting a new career during a pandemic was, in a word, wild. But it taught me how to adapt, persevere, and make it work — qualities that come in handy on a wedding day when things don’t go exactly to plan.
Now, I get to document love stories, milestones, and everyday magic for people like you. And, honestly, I can’t imagine doing anything else.

Secret Superpower: Solving problems (think: tying bowties, calming nerves, or fixing a million tiny dress buttons).
Travel Style: Amazing at living out of a suitcase, less amazing at unpacking it.
“What an incredibly unforgettable experience! The photos were to die for and now we have so many beautiful moments to look at over and over. It's hard to find the words to describe Julie's unique skill at camouflaging herself with the furniture, taking amazing photos and making us feel as though she's a member of the family. If you need photos for any occasion, I cannot recommend her enough. She is a true professional and a genuine warm presence.”

Authenticity is what really matters
Your wedding day, milestones, and even quiet Sunday mornings aren’t about posed moments — they’re about time spent with the people you love most.
As a one-woman show, I’ll be by your side from start to finish. For larger weddings, I work with trusted second shooters and assistants, but I personally oversee every detail — from documenting your day to meticulously editing every photo. It’s this level of care and attention that sets me apart.
I bring a calm, steady energy to every session, including your wedding. My background in technical scuba diving taught me how to stay cool under pressure, plan for the unexpected, and bring backups for everything. (Seriously, I have backups for my backups.) Wedding days may not happen underwater, but they still demand that same preparation and steady energy.
No matter what pops up from a last-minute timeline shift, tricky lighting, or an epic downpour, I’ve got it handled — so you can focus on soaking it all in.
My family is my why
Marriage is one of life’s greatest adventures (equal parts joy and challenge), and it’s an honor to capture the first chapter of so many love stories.
I grew up in a family that valued hard work, love, and taking time to enjoy the little things — and that shaped how I view life: as an open book waiting to be explored.
It’s the same balance I strive for now with my own family: showing my kids the value of hard work and determination while being fully present for the moments that matter most (and teaching them to embrace adventure, even if it means stepping out of their comfort zones).
When I started this business, my kids were just one and four, and they’ve grown up surrounded by cameras, photo albums, and memories. They’ve also grown used to “Mommy always carrying a camera” and adore flipping through our family albums to relive our adventures.
For me, photography isn’t about perfection. It’s about capturing real moments.
That’s what I want for you — photos that don’t just remind you of how it all looked, but how it felt.
Want photos that make you laugh, cry, and remember all the feels?
I’m ready to bring the camera, the vibes, and a whole lot of fun. Let’s chat about your wedding, family session, or next big adventure!
